ABOUT
Gaurav Pati is an animation filmmaker and visual storyteller based in London, United Kingdom.
Originally from the wet coastal state of Odisha, India, and raised in the capital city of New Delhi, Gaurav is drawn to people and the stories they carry. He completed his undergraduate studies in Animation Filmmaking at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and is currently pursuing his MA at the Royal College of Art, London.His work centers on exploring human nature and shared experiences. finding the unique in the mundane and tapping into the delicate moments of life we tend to overlook. Though not bound by genre, his storytelling leans towards poetic realism. Constantly evolving his visual language, Gaurav is currently experimenting with textures and lost edges, coupled with the use of crude yet expressive linework.

1. SILVER CONCH AWARD for Best Indian Animation FIlm at MIFF (MUMBAI INTERNATIONATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL) 2024.

2. STRANGE BEAST & PASSION PRIZE 2025
my thesis film at Royal College of Art was awaded by Strange Beast TV and Passion Pictures and is being supported by them while currently in production.
3. SECOND PRIZE at ANIMAFANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL, ROMANIA
Runner up at the festival at Lassy city, Romania.
4. WINNER ‘BEST STORY’ and INDIAN REPRESENTATION at DIGIOCON6ASIA AWARDS, JAPAN
